Your guide

After spending more than twenty years exploring canyons, cliffs and rivers around the world, Marco settled in Lozère, in the Tarn Gorges for a season. Conquered by the beauty of the landscapes and the welcome of the Lozériens, he never left.

Specializing in canyoning and via ferrata, he will accompany you in complete safety, in a friendly atmosphere, on the canyons and via ferratas of our region that he knows by heart.

What is Canyoning?

Le canyoning is the progression on foot in a mountain stream. We use the steep relief of the waterfalls to make the movement fun or technical. This is how as you progress, throughout the course, you will be able to slide on natural slides, jump from rocks into pools of clear water, or use the rope to abseil down. We offer two courses of different difficulties:

  • The upper Tarn

Located on the heights of the pretty village of Pont de Montvert, this canyoning route of the sources of the Tarn, in the heart of the CĂ©vennes, will take you through open gorges allowing the uninitiated to discover the canyoning activity with ease.

In translucent water, amidst splendid granite slabs and eroded blocks, jumps, swimming and slides will enhance the canyoning descent accessible to all.

  • The Tapoul Gorges

Located in the village of Les Rousses in Lozère at the gateway to the Cévennes, the Tapoul canyon is considered by many to be the wonder of Aigoual. A fun and aquatic canyon par excellence, this sporty course will bring you sensations and emotions, all in an incredibly beautiful setting. This canyon presents a series of jumps and rope techniques, in fresh and clear water. All the obstacles can be done in a sporty or more leisurely way and all the jumps can be avoided.

And the Via Ferrata?

This discipline consists of following a course set up on a cliff equipped with bars, ladders and cables. Equipped with a harness, lanyards, a pulley and a shock absorber, you will progress in complete safety thanks to the assistance of your guide who will be able to show you the techniques to use in the tricky passages.

Each via has an easy route and a more complex one, allowing you to choose one or the other route at any time.

We offer two courses of different levels and lengths:

  • Canourgue Via Ferrata

A concentrate of everything you can encounter in via via ferrata on a half-day route. Nepalese bridge, footbridges, zip line, and the cherry on the cake, a large net (not mandatory) to climb up completely empty. Note that this via has neither an approach step nor a return step.

The height from the ground to the highest point is approximately fifty meters and the time spent on the cables is approximately 2 hours.

  • Liaucous Via Ferrata

A very aesthetic day route in a breathtaking setting with an easy route and an expert route that intersect. Like the other via via ferrata, Nepalese bridges, footbridges and zip line will enhance your journey. You will have the opportunity to picnic on the cliff facing a remarkable landscape. The height from the ground to the highest point is a few dozen meters on the easy route and a hundred meters on the expert route. The activity lasts about 5 hours.
